Moria 35

A full-length documentary: In search of safety and dignified life in Europe, 35 men find themselves awaiting trial, facing the possibility of a ten-year prison sentence. Sekou Guindo suggests that his arrest may have been influenced by his race. This situation is documented in the “Moria 35” documentary, which exposes Greek police violence against refugees and migrants at the Moria camp.

The Rosa Luxemburg Foundation recognized “Moria 35” and invited Fridoon Joinda to discuss and screen the film in five German cities. This recognition led to an anti-criminalization movement in support of refugees.

Nice Lie

A full-length documentary: Showing that while the Greek economy is still recovering from the financial crisis, 60.000 refugees are trapped in the country. They describe their daily challenges in barbed-wired camps on the Greek Islands or the streets of Athens. People who came to Europe seeking safety and a decent life find that “those human rights are no more than a NICE Lie,” as 19-year-old Abtin from Iran concludes. So they fight for their rights on the streets, supported by solidarity initiatives, and try to move on to central Europe – but many of them are deported back to Greece.

Hope...

With borrowed cameras and equipment, we made this movie while stuck on Lesvos with thousands of others, waiting for months for the Greek government to hear our stories and allow us into the rest of Europe.

“Hope” is a short film that delves into the mental health of refugees residing in camps, enduring months of anticipation for responses to their asylum applications from the Greek government. The film also portrays the challenges and uncertainties refugees face during this waiting period.
